We attended the Family Forward Retreat which included a lot of awesome experiences. This was not a press trip – we bought conference tickets and flight – but the sponsors did offer a memorable experience at Universal Studios including after hours at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Unfortunately Brian and I didn’t get to go on any rides, but our group had the place to ourselves! We did enjoy Butterbeer and delicious desserts at the Three Broomsticks.
The Butterbeer was very good – like a cream soda. Brian’s was served “cold” and mine was “frozen.” We tasted each other’s and I must say frozen is the way to go! We all tried Pumpkin Juice as well. It had a strong pumpkin spice taste to me, though Brian said it tasted more like apple pie to him.

The kids were really tired after traveling that day so we left after a little while. It is super dark since there aren’t many lights along the way which made the park a little scary. Seuss Landing was especially creepy in the dark with random voices activated as we walked by. This was the start of Rissa’s “I want to get out of here” request that we heard frequently throughout the trip.
It was a great event to start off the retreat. Oh and we learned they are working on an addition… Diagon Alley for 2014!

I definitely liked the frozen butterbeer better, too! It was cool to have the place to ourselves, but it WAS awfully late for our little ones, too.
