Chocolate Lucky Charms Crispy Treats Recipe

Do you love crispy treats and finding excuses to make them? Me too. While at the store the other day, I spotted Chocolate Lucky Charms cereal with clover marshmallows. I instantly decided that I must make them into a crispy treat while my daughter thought this cereal would be the perfect bait for a leprechaun trap.

I liked her idea too, but I wanted to eat them after being wrapped up in warm marshmallowy goodness. My kids are funny because they love the idea of crispy treats, but don’t really eat them. Sure, they’ll take a couple bites, but they rarely finish one.

Me? I’ll gladly enjoy their share.

So, I whipped up a batch of these bad boys knowing the entire pan might be mine. All mine. (My precious.)

To my surprise, the kids gobbled these up!

Ingredients:

6 cups of Chocolate Lucky Charms Cereal

3 TBS of butter

5 1/2 cups of mini marshmallows

Turn this bowl of cereal into an easy dessert with this recipe.

Directions:

You can make these using the microwave, but I prefer using the stove top. Either way works!

Start by greasing a 9×13 inch pan or lining it with parchment paper. If I can line a pan, I will, because it decreases the clean up mess.

Next, melt your butter. I use low heat in a sauce pan. If you are using the microwave, put your butter in a large bowl and melt it in short increments.

Once the butter is melted, add the mini marshmallows. I used these white mini marshmallows because that’s what I had on hand. These might be fun with the colorful fruity mini marshmallows too.

Heat marshmallows, stirring frequently until they melt and are smooth.

Mix in the Chocolate Lucky Charms and clover marshmallows (nope, I did not separate them out!). Coat the cereal then press into your 9×13 pan.

Let them cool completely before cutting and serving. If you try one too soon, they will be very sticky and gooey. Trust me, I know. The little treat square could not hold it’s shape when it was still warm.

I love how super easy these are, yet delicious and fun. I may or may not have used too many marshmallows or not enough cereal, so you may need to tweak the amounts to your liking. Enjoy these for a sweet Saint Patrick’s treat with the kids or use as leprechaun bait. This recipe is simple enough for kids to help make!

If you find some, I hope you try these cereal treats, Audrey! I've never seen the chocolate ones before so I'm not sure if they were out just for March or not.

I'm sure regular Lucky Charms would taste great too, but I had to experiment with the chocolate ones. I didn't know they had these until I saw them at the store!
