Christmas Tree Flower Pot Ornament
I love that there are so many fun holiday themed activities to do this time of year! Easy craft projects are my favorite, and this one is simple to make with the kids.
It works great as a classroom art project too!
Children will have fun painting the clay pots and transforming them into little decorated Christmas trees.
These make great Christmas ornaments that you can hang year after year.
It’s a great activity to go along with reading Christmas books!
I love the jingle bell, but if you don’t want to make bell ornaments, you can knot the ribbon inside without it.

How to Make Clay Pot Christmas Trees Ornament
Paint clay pots green on the outside and the inside. Allow them to dry completely, which should take about 30 minutes.
You may want to set them on wax paper to keep to keep the bottom from sticking as it dries.
Apply a second coat as needed. Once completely dry, use a toothpick or something to clear the hole in the bottom of the pot of any paint.
Cut a piece of ribbon approximately 6 inches long. Thread one end of the ribbon through the hoop end of a bell.
Position the bell in the middle of the ribbon. Then fold the ribbon in half and knot it just above the bell and again about one inch above the first knot.
Thread the ends of the ribbon through the hole in the flower pot. If you have trouble pulling the ribbon through the hole, using tweezers may help.
Once you pull the ribbon all the way through the hole, add another knot close to the cut end of the ribbon to create a loop for hanging the ornament. Trim the ends of the ribbon as needed.
Use tacky glue to attach buttons around the flower pot to look like ornaments on a Christmas tree.
Add/glue a glittery star on the top. You can use foam star stickers, large star confetti, or star buttons.
Let the glue dry completely before hanging or wrapping it up as a gift for family and friends!
