Ghost Tea Light Candle Craft

These tea light ghosts make a fun family project. Kids can help trace the ghost pattern and cut it out.

Children can also work on fine motor skills by placing the self adhesive rhinestones with their fingers or a pair of tweezers. (Adults will likely want to use a craft knife when doing this.)

We highly recommend using hot glue to assemble this project because it is more durable and dries quicker. Plus, some crafting materials are just tougher to sticker together with other types of glue.

Always discuss how to safely use a hot glue gun with kids and supervise them. We recommend using a low temp glue gun.

If you need an alternative to hot gluing, we recommend using this tacky craft glue. Your project will take longer to dry and may be more fragile when handling.

When they are done, use them to decorate your table full of Halloween party food. They could light the way around these yummy ghost cupcakes.

Another idea is to use the twine to create a banner with them or turn them into hanging decor.

How to Make Tea Light Ghosts:

Download, print and cut out the Halloween Tea Light Patterns. You can also draw or cut the pieces freehand.

Start by gathering all of your supplies. Remove the flameless tea lights from the packaging, pull the tab in the back and make sure the flame lights up.

Place the on/off switch at the 12 o’clock position and set it down.

Next, glue two googly eyes above the pretend flame. Use two different size eyes to give the ghost a whimsical look.

Then place one black self-adhesive rhinestone under the flame for its mouth. Adults may want to use the tip of the craft knife to place the rhinestone.

Trace the ghost body pattern onto white craft foam and it cut out with scissors. Make sure that the on/off switch of the tea light is at the top and hot glue the ghost body to the back of it, below the switch.

Use the black and white baker’s twine to tie a bow with long tails. Glue it to the front of the ghost’s body just below the tea light head.
