To create your handprint sunflower, start by tracing your hands on yellow construction paper and cutting out the shapes. Aim to trace your hands at least twice.
For a fuller flower, you can trace them up to four times. Next, cut a rectangle strip of green paper, ensuring it’s at least an inch wide to form the stem.
Glue the yellow hand-shaped petals to the top of the green stem, allowing the palms to overlap slightly for a layered effect.
Use a brown dot marker to dab several circles for the sunflower’s center. If you don’t have dot markers, a cotton swab dipped in brown paint works well too.
Alternatively, you can glue brown pom poms or sunflower seeds into the center for added texture.
If you wish to enhance your craft further, consider adding a green handprint leaf to the stem!
