If you don’t have tissue paper on hand, you can still use the heart for other projects. For example, kids can paint, color or decorate the removable heart.

Additionally, if you are crafting with younger children, you can skip cutting out the center heart and simply glue tissue paper to the front of the card.

How to Make an ‘I Love You to Pieces’ Craft Card:

First you will need to download and print out our printable card with craft template.

Please note: The original tissue paper heart suncatcher template includes a couple different sizes for use in a variety of projects. The size used for this card is included in the card template above.

I recommend using regular printer paper for this project. The light will shine through plain printer paper easier than a heavier weight paper like cardstock.

Next you will need to color in the ‘I Love You to Pieces’ text on the front of the card.

Once that is colored, carefully cut out the center heart.

Fold the card in half.

Next cut out the heart template for the suncatcher. It is slightly larger than the heart shape cut out to keep it from falling out through the front of the card.

White cardstock paper folded in half with heart cut out laying open on table next to cut out phrases that read Happy Father's Day! Happy Mother's Day! Happy Grandparent's Day!

Also cut out your choice of ‘Happy Mother’s Day’, ‘Happy Father’s Day’ or ‘Happy Grandparent’s Day’ and use liquid glue or a glue stick to attach your selected phrase to the inside of the card.

Assemble the suncatcher according to the heart suncatcher directions.

Set them aside to dry.

Once completely dry, line the suncatcher up behind the cut out of the heart and tape it in place on the inside of the card.
