Snowman Christmas Card Craft Supplies

This DIY card requires minimal materials and is perfect for creating multiple copies. You can access the free Spinning Snowman Card Template by filling out the form at the end of this post. Here’s what else you’ll need:

  • White Cardstock
  • Clear Thread or Fishing Line: to attach the snowman and create the spinning effect
  • Glue: I recommend using tacky craft glue to secure the fishing line and an adhesive tape runner for assembling the card. Avoid using liquid school glue as it may cause the paper to warp. If that’s all you have, remind kids to use it sparingly, or use a glue stick instead.
  • Scissors

With these supplies, you’ll be able to craft a delightful spinning snowman card effortlessly.

How to Make a Spinning Snowman Christmas Card

Print the template of the spinning snowman card craft on white cardstock paper. Trim any extra white margins, then cut the first page in half along the dotted line.

Take the bottom rectangular piece with the blue snowflake pattern facing down. Align the edges and fold it in half, creating a crisp crease. This will serve as the base of the card.

Cut out the patterned section with the white circle in the middle and place it on the left side of the card base (with blank sides facing each other).

Apply a small amount of glue along the left and right edges to attach them together, leaving the top and bottom glue-free. Allow it to dry.

Fold and crease the glued pieces in half backward, forming a Z-shaped fold. While folded, carefully cut out the white circle.

Proceed to cut out both snowmen, the Season’s Greetings circle, and other embellishments. Glue the Season’s Greetings circle in the center of the right side of the card.

Next, cut about 8 inches of fishing line or thin clear thread. Position the fishing line in the middle of the snowman’s back and glue it in place.

Then, glue the second snowman on top, sandwiching the line between the two snowman pieces. Trim the snowman as needed to ensure they align perfectly. Allow it to dry.

Open the card with the front section (left side) unfolded. Gently open the top and bottom sections where the circle was cut out. Thread the fishing line through each hole, so the snowman sits in the center of the circle.

Ensure the fishing line is taut and apply a small amount of glue in each hole. Press firmly to secure the thread. Trim the excess fishing line or wrap it around and glue it into the back crease before trimming.

Complete the card by attaching other embellishments on the front and back, or get creative and add your own.

Allow the card to dry completely before twisting the snowman around, creating a spinning effect when opening and closing the card.
